This research study is for patients scheduled to have an elective operation that requires blood pressure monitoring during the operation. Blood pressure will be monitored through the use of a catheter in one of your arteries during your operation.

This is a research study is being supported by Masimo Corporation. Masimo makes an experimental monitor to non-invasively measure the amount of hemoglobin in your blood.

During this study, we hope to collect information to help us:
- evaluate the study treatment
- calibrate the study treatment
- improve the performance of the study treatment
- better understand this technology

Who can participate

Inclusion criteria:

  • Patients scheduled for elective surgery requiring intra-arterial pressure monitoring

Exclusion criteria:

  • Age less than 18 years
  • Pregnancy
  • Prisoners
