This study is being conducted by the UC Davis department of Human Development.

Participants from the California Babies Project are invited to take part in a new study.

This new study will examine the effects of the Coronavirus or COVID-19, on California Babies families.

The purpose of this research is to understand how the COVID-19 virus is impacting your family.
This study requires

If you agree to participate in this research, you will be asked to answer a brief survey over the phone.

The purpose of this research is to understand how the COVID-19 virus is impacting your family.

To do this we will ask you questions about your health, your finances, your work, and your child’s childcare.

Who can participate

All adults currently enrolled in the California Babies Project will be eligible to participate. California Babies is a study of low income, Mexican American families in the greater Sacramento area. We are currently in contact with these families as California Babies data collection is ongoing.

Benefits and risks of participating

We cannot promise any benefits to you as a result of taking part in this research study.


The study team will discuss the risks associated with taking part in this research study.
You will be compensated $15 each time you participate in a phone call.
Study duration and period
Each phone call will take approximately 20 minutes. We will call you every two weeks, for 6 months.
