The purpose of this research study is to see if lifestyle changes can protect memory and thinking ability (cognition) as we age. Participants in one group receive information, tools and support to help them design a lifestyle program that best fits their own individual needs and schedules. Participants in another group receive the same information, but will also complete a more structured lifestyle program that includes physical exercise, a healthy diet and thinking (cognitive) exercise.
This study requires

The following activities are part of this study:

  • An Informed Consent review
  • A review of medical history
  • Physical examinations
  • Phone call and/or emails
  • Study visits and consultations
  • Surveys and questionnaires
  • Laboratory and imaging tests
  • Specimen sample collection
Who can participate
  • People between the ages of 60 and 79
  • People who are not regular exercisers (generally less than 3 times per week)
  • People who may have other risks for memory loss in the future such as a family history of memory problems or slightly high blood pressure, cholesterol or blood sugar
Compensation will be discussed with each potential participant.
